Privacy Policy

Simple, private, and plain.

The short version

QuietWare apps do not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data. The QuietWare website may use Google Analytics for analytical viewing only. QuietWare also receives personal information when you choose to provide it through the email list or when you use third-party storefronts and payment providers such as Gumroad, itch.io, or Stripe.

QuietWare apps

None of the QuietWare apps collect personal analytics, tracking profiles, device identifiers, usage histories, payment details, or identifiable app activity. QuietWare apps do not sell or transmit personal data anywhere.

ScreenEra stores Era Coins in a database, but those coins are assigned to a Unique ID rather than personal or identifiable user information.

Email addresses

If you voluntarily join the QuietWare email list, QuietWare stores your email address so we can send occasional release notes, app updates, and related messages. Email list addresses are not sold, rented, traded, or shared for advertising.

When you download or purchase QuietWare apps through third-party storefronts such as Gumroad or itch.io, those services may store the email address used for the download or purchase. QuietWare may have access to that email address through those storefront accounts.

You can unsubscribe from the email list at any time using the unsubscribe link included in QuietWare emails.

Community submissions

If you submit a problem, praise, comment, reply, or similar post to the QuietWare community board, the text you submit may become public after moderation. Names are optional. If you choose to provide a name, it may be displayed with your public submission. If you leave the name field blank, the submission may be shown without a personal name.

Community submissions are reviewed before they appear publicly. QuietWare may approve, edit for safety or clarity, reject, hide, or remove submissions and comments to keep the community useful, respectful, and free from spam or abuse.

QuietWare may retain submitted content, moderation history, and limited anti-abuse information such as hashed network or browser signals, timestamps, vote signals, and related technical metadata. This information is used to protect the community board, prevent duplicate voting or spam, review moderation decisions, and maintain the service.

QuietWare does not include submission text, names, network addresses, browser details, or other user-provided community content in analytics events. Community analytics, where used, are consent-based and limited to general, allowlisted activity such as page paths, sort choices, category choices, and public content IDs.

You can request correction or removal of your community submission by emailing michael@quietwareapps.com. Please include enough detail to identify the submission, such as the page, title, approximate date, and name shown, if any.

Website analytics

The QuietWare website may use Google Analytics to understand basic website traffic, page views, referral sources, and general visitor behavior. Information collected through Google Analytics is used for analytical viewing only, such as understanding which pages are useful and improving the website.

QuietWare does not sell Google Analytics information, does not use it to build advertising profiles, and does not use it for anything outside website analytics and business-related site improvement.

Payments and storefronts

For non-Apple App Store downloads and purchases, payments may be processed through third-party services such as Stripe, Gumroad, or itch.io. Payment information is handled and stored by those third parties, not by QuietWare.

QuietWare does not sell payment information, does not use it for advertising, and does not transmit it anywhere outside the business-related and agreed-to uses needed to provide purchases, downloads, receipts, support, refunds, accounting, and similar customer service needs.
